Kyocera Solar, Inc. and TESSCO Technologies Incorporated (Nasdaq:TESS), a value-added supplier of the product solutions needed to design, build, run, maintain and use wireless systems, announce the launch of a revolutionary Web-based selection method for purchasing pre-sized Kyocera solar power systems for broadband and SCADA applications.  The Web-based selection method will reside on TESSCO’s Web site and will enable customers to easily purchase pre-packaged solar solutions designed for simplified and efficient installation. The complete turn-key Kyocera broadband and SCADA solar power systems can be ordered online and typically shipped within days of purchase. This cutting-edge purchasing method delivers solar powered applications to customers directly, without having to customize the system.

Kyocera and TESSCO announced a key distribution agreement between the two companies earlier this year, whereby TESSCO sells Kyocera solar power products through its various distribution channels in the areas of broadband and SCADA communications. And now, the dependable design of the pre-packaged solar systems is expected to yield higher reliability, and will include all installation components and a complete documentation package. Together, Kyocera and TESSCO strive to deliver ease and on-time delivery for customers in search of solar applications. “TESSCO has delivered an arena for Kyocera to sell pre-packaged broadband and SCADA solar power systems with purchasing ease for the end-user,” stated Rich Griswold, Kyocera Solar, Inc. industrial sales manager. “This online selection method will help customers realize how easy incorporating solar into communication applications can be.”

“Solar power systems are an ideal power source for communication applications as they provide an energy source that is impervious to blackouts and power failures – and solar power is a viable option for providing power to outdoor wireless networking equipment,” stated Rodger Hyle, power systems category manager for TESSCO. ”Due to typical low power requirements, solar power is often more economical than trenching utility power and provides the freedom for Engineers to deploy wireless nodes where they can optimize network coverage.”
