Borrego Solar Systems, Inc. is launching a pilot program in conjunction with Sun Run Generation, LLC that will allow Contra Costa County homeowners to take advantage of an innovative new service that will alleviate the risks and significantly lower the costs of solar system installation. “The biggest barrier has always been the initial installation cost for the photovoltaic system; with these new financing options, our residential customers can easily convert to solar energy at a fraction of the traditional cost. – Mike Hall, Chief Marketing Officer, Borrego Solar Systems.
“We are looking forward to working closely with Borrego, as they build great systems that we will happily own for many years.” – R. Nat Kreamer, Sun Run Chief Operating Officer Sun Run is offering homeowners options that will allow them to power their electricity using a solar energy system at a much lower cost, without the responsibility of monitoring and maintaining the system. Once the system is installed, homeowners pay for only the energy used, the same way they are currently billed by a utility company.
Borrego Solar Systems Chief Marketing Officer, Mike Hall, is enthusiastic about this direction for making solar more accessible to more homeowners. “The biggest barrier has always been the initial installation cost for the photovoltaic system; with these new financing options, our residential customers can easily convert to solar energy at a fraction of the traditional cost,” said Hall. Sun Run Chief Operating Officer, R. Nat Kreamer, said, “We are looking forward to working closely with Borrego, as they build great systems that we will happily own for many years.”
Sun Run is a distributed renewable power company that sells discounted electricity produced by individual residential solar systems, owns and operates the energy systems. Sun Run sells the green electricity to homeowners at a discount, giving customers the benefits of renewable energy without the typical upfront investment or risk the system will fail to produce as expected. By using solar power, homeowners will generate electricity at significantly less than market utility rates, as well as insulate themselves against increasing energy costs.
Borrego Solar is currently offering a pilot program with Sun Run exclusively for Contra Costa County homeowners. There will be two free informational seminars open to the public to learn more about the financing options: The first will be August 28, 2007, 6:30-8PM at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Lafayette, and the second will be held at the Business Showcase Food & Wine Event, September 19, 2007 from 5-8PM. Call 925-215-4737 for more information or to RSVP for the events.
