Solar Integrated continues European Sales Expansion with a project in Belgium

Solar Integrated Technologies, Inc. (AIM:SIT.LN), a leading provider of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing systems, announced today the completion of its first BIPV project under Belgium’s new feed-in tariff program. The BIPV roofing system was sold by Solar Integrated and installed at a facility owned by Zelfbouw-Markt, a home improvement retailer in Belgium. The project was managed by Ikaros Solar, a turn-key PV engineering company based in Lier, Belgium.
“We are excited to have expanded our European sales into Belgium,” stated R. Randall MacEwen, President & CEO of Solar Integrated. “In 2006, 93% of our European sales were in Germany. This year, we expect German projects to account for about 30% of our European sales with the remaining 70% coming from Italy, Spain, France and Belgium.”

Yves Devis, Managing Director of Ikaros Solar stated: “With Belgium’s new feed-in tariff of €0.45 per kWh, we believe there will be significant interest in Solar Integrated’s innovative BIPV roofing system which combines a solar power generating capability as part of a building’s roofing system.”
