Solar Power Conference and Expo to Break Attendance Record in a Landmark Year for Solar Power / July 24 2007
The Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) expect the 2007 Solar Power Conference and Expo in Long Beach, Calif. to shatter attendance records for a North American solar energy event, drawing an unprecedented 10,000 people. Conference organizers plan an ambitious agenda to examine the latest trends, challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
“2007 is a milestone year for both the Solar Power Conference and Expo and the solar industry. Attendance has swelled more than 600 percent since the show’s inception in 2004, reflecting the solar power industry’s rapid acceleration and the general public’s emerging interest in renewable energy,” said Julia Judd, executive director of SEPA and chair of Solar Power 2007. “We look forward to again providing a strong forum for the development and strengthening of solar business deals and partnerships.”
The Solar Power Conference and Expo is by far North America’s largest yearly gathering of solar industry professionals, policymakers, electric utility representatives, investors, and homebuilders. Solar Power 2007 will feature more than 200 exhibitors and 125 expert speakers and bring together business people from all over the world. Joining as plenary speakers are well known businessmen, actors and environmentalists Ed Begley Jr. (“Living with Ed”) and Larry Hagman (“Dallas”), as well as Ted Turner, founder of DT Solar and of numerous television and film properties.
Solar Power 2007 will take place Sept. 24 – 27 at the Long Beach Convention Center.
About Solar Power 2007
The Solar Power Conference and Expo was created in 2004 when the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) joined together in partnership to fill an obvious void: the U.S. was missing a business-to-business solar conference and expo. With an industry growth rate of more than 40 percent per year, there was a need for a single event where industry could come together with potential customers, policymakers, investors, and other parties necessary for continued rapid growth. Solar Power 2007 is now recognized as the premiere solar event in the U.S.
