Features:
High Voltage Applications with One Substrate/ Shapes to Meet Your Need/ Large Cells, Clean Energy/ Wide Range of Substrate Materials

All Amorton Models
SANYO Amorphous Products are used to power products such as calculators, thermometers, scales, battery chargers, deodorizers, wrist watches, clocks, stopwatches, LED flashing lights, sensor lights, remote control units, radios, testers, educational tools, fans, sun roof car fans, and many others.

Benefits of amorphous products include an unlimited energy supply from sunlight free of charge; direct conversion of sunlight to electricity in a clean and noise-free manner that does not produce toxic waste or by-products; regardless of the size of cells, power is generated at a fixed rate of optimum efficiency; power is generated whenever a light source is available, either natural, artificial, or diffused light!

The SANYO Amorphous Products include:

1. Amorton Cells

Amorton cells are an integrated type of amorphous silicon solar cell, and can be made into modules which, when connected in a sufficient number in series on a substrate during cell formation, can generate extremely high voltage output levels. Amorton can be fabricated in a variety of forms – square, round, or any other shape imaginable. Various module shpaes are also available according to specific requrements. Amorton allos large-area cells to be fabricated much more easily than with conventional crystal silicon. Amorphous silicon can be deposited onto a vast array of insulation materias including glass and ceramics, metals such as stainless steel, and plastics.

Artificial light, such as flourescent and incandescent light, is used indoors. This illuminance of these light sources ranges from 20 lux to 1,000 lux. Indoors, therefore, Amorton is most suitable for samll equipment such as calculators.

Amorphous silicon solar cells can be directly connected in series according to electrode patterns. Amorton, allows many cells to be arranged on one sbustrate and connected in series. There are two types of Amorton for indoor use: Type I, in which cells are connected at their edges, and Type II, in which cells are connected along the entire length of their sides.

Natural light ranges in illuminance from 10,000 lux to 100,000 lux or more. Amorton is siutable outdoors for compact equipment such as chargers, sun roofs, etc.

2. Amorton Film

Amorton Film is an exceptionally thin, light and flexible amorphous silicon solar cell fabricated on plastic film. In addition to these advantages, Amorton Film is also resistant to cracking. Its standard configuration includes protective film covering the amorphous silicon solar cell which measures about 0.4mm in overall thickness.

3. Flexible Amorton

Formed on a stainless steel substrate, Flexible Amorton features thin and lightweight design and is also resistant to cracking. It can be configured into virtually any shape including holes. In its standard configuration, the finished product is a mere 0.2mm thick. Flexible Amorton for use of watches, calculators, and other products can be custom made. Samples available upon request.

4. Amorphous Photosensors

Amorphous Photosensor is a kind of photo diode, and can detect light and its intensity. Amorphous Photosensor power is generated using the photovoltaic effect of semiconductors as well as Amorphous Silicon Solar Cell. When a semiconductor is exposed to a light souce of suitable intensity, a large number of pairs of an electron and positive holes are generated as a result of the reciprocal actions between photons and silicon atoms. They are then collected at both electrodes respectively, resulting ina voltage difference between the electrodes. Applications of Amorphous Photosensors include:

*  Adjusting Luminosity LCD Back Light in cellular phones, mobile products, car navigation systems, etc.
*  Adjusting Image Location in projection TV’s
*  Exposure Control in digital cameras
*  Lighting Contorl in street lights, yard lights, interior lights
