Phoenix Solar AG, a leading photovoltaic system integrator listed on the TecDAX, is currently building a photovoltaic power plant with a 5.8 megawatt peak output on behalf of the Enovos Group in Kenn in the district of Trier-Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate. Construction work has already begun and the commissioning of the power plant has been scheduled for the end of July 2009. An expected annual yield of more than 5,800,000 kilowatt hours in environmentally compatible energy is to supply around 1,650 households. (more…)

In the past few weeks, Phoenix Solar AG, a leading photovoltaic system integrator listed on the TecDAX, started construction work on three photovoltaic power plants in Türkenfeld, Hohenzell and Malching, all located in the District of Fürstenfeldbruck. The financing of the first two power plants has been secured through Sparkasse Fürstenfeldbruck, and the solar plant in Malching will be financed by a major German bank.  Upon its completion in June 2009, the Türkenfeld power plant, with a peak output of more than three megawatts (MWp), will supply around 900 households with environmentally compatible electricity. The Malching power plant with 4.7 MWp will supply more than 1,300 households and the ground-mounted power plant in Hohenzell with 2.7 MWp around 750 households. With these three solar parks the District of Fürstenfeldbruck will have come a good bit closer to achieving its goal of generating 100 percent of its energy supply from renewable energy sources by 2030. (NYSE: STP), the world’s largest manufacturer of crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules, announced today that it will build a 1.5MW solar system in HuaiAn City, Jiangsu Province, China in collaboration with Jiangsu Guoxin Asset Management Group Ltd. (Jiangsu Guoxin Group). The solar system, which is expected to be completed by October 2009, will be the first one megawatt plus, grid connected solar system installed in Jiangsu Province.  Suntech Energy Engineering, Suntech’s China-based systems integration team, will design and install the 1.5MW solar system on 19,000 square meters of the rooftop of buildings housing a subsidiary of Jiangsu Guoxin Group in HuaiAn City. Kyocera Corporation (President: Tetsuo Kuba; hereafter “Kyocera”) announced today that it is supplying solar modules for the new Toyota Prius solar ventilation system, an optional feature for the hybrid car model introduced in Japan by Toyota Motor Corporation (hereafter “Toyota”) on May 18. The system ventilates the air inside of the car by using the electricity generated by the solar module on the rooftop to drive the fans while the car is parked during the daytime. The Euro-based contract, worth up to $115 million, extends through 2013 and brings Solyndra’s contractual backlog to approximately $1.8 billion.
