Solar EnerTech Corp. (OTCBB: SOEN) (the “Company”) is pleased to announce the recent visit by an official 11-member governmental trade delegation from The Republic of Congo at the Company’s solar cell plant in Shanghai with the stated intent as a purchasing mission.

The visit comes as a result of the Sino-Africa Economic Cooperation Summit held last November in Beijing, which was attended by 54 leaders from a number of African nations. Following the summit the Chinese government announced a renewable-energy aide program aimed at launching solar energy initiatives within Africa. Mme Jeanne Dambendzet, a senior Minister of the Congolese government and a proponent of alternative energy solutions for her country, led the delegation for a pre-purchase manufacturing inspection. The solar projects enjoy financial support by both the Congolese and Chinese governments with China Industrial and Agricultural Machinery Import and Export Company, a Chinese state-owned entity, acting as intermediary agent to manage the export of completed solar modules and integrated systems to the project locations in Congo.

Research and Markets announces addition of Global Market: Current & Next Generation Solar Cell & Related Material Market Outlooks

April 26th, 2007 by kalyan89 in Press Releases, Reports, PV-General

Fuji-Keizai USA, Inc., March 2007, Pages: 58
http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c55075

This research report reviews the current status of the worldwide solar cell industry, market size, market share, and forecast for the next ten years. It also includes in-depth research on new emerging technologies, major players and future roadmap (beyond 2015). This study includes profiles of 15 major companies, 4 research ventures, and 4 research institutes & universities from major geographical locations. A section is dedicated to emerging solar cell materials.

In 2006, the worldwide solar photovoltaic industry reached a consolidated figure of 2.1GW*, representing an annual growth of 30 percent. Emerging technologies represented about 0.22GW worldwide. The solar cell market based on new emerging technologies is estimated to increase tremendously over the next 10 years at an AAGR of 43.1 percent capturing more than 13 percent of the total market share (in MW capacity). The enormous growth rate of emerging technologies is attributed to the demand for non-silicon based solar cells, higher efficiency, cost reduction, and overall awareness of extracting energy from alternative sources such as wind, solar, biomass and other natural sources.

SHANGHAI, China – Physicist Shi Zhengrong spent the 1990s in an Australian lab studying solar power, a field he picked by chance. He expected to devote his life to science. Still, Shi saw signs of a blossoming industry as Germany, Japan and other countries invested in cleaner power. Excited by a trip home that showed him China’s rapid development, he startled friends by abruptly moving his wife and two Australian-born sons to his homeland in 2001 to launch a solar equipment company.

The Ontario government has given approval for a California company to construct a massive solar “farm” near Sarnia that will blanket an area larger than all three Toronto islands with hundreds of thousands of sun-soaking panels.  It will be the largest solar power station in North America and among the most expansive in the world to use photovoltaic cells that produce electricity when exposed to sunlight. Once complete, the 40-megawatt Sarnia project will be able to supply enough emission-free electricity to power between 10,000 and 15,000 homes on sunny days.

Kyocera Corp. has announced a plan to boost its solar cell production to 500 MW per year in FY2010. The 500 MW is about three times the current output of 180 MW. Toward the production enhancement, the company will reinforce production bases in Japan, the US, Europe and China, investing a total of about ¥30 billion through FY2010. Through this production enhancement, Kyocera looks to meet increasing demand across the world for solar cell.

Centrosolar extends agreement with Q-Cells for the direct supply of Solar cells

Munich, April 26, 2007

Solarsquare AG, now a subsidiary of CENTROSOLAR AG, acted promptly to access sources of supply for pure solar silicon. This raw material, which is required in the production of solar cells, was procured on behalf of the cell manufacturer Q-Cells. In return, the latter has (among others) hitherto supplied Solarsquare with solar modules, which Solarsquare has then marketed. This supply agreement, which involves annual quantities currently amounting to almost 12 MWp, has now been improved. In future, on Q-Cells will be supplying Solarsquare AG with solar cells rather than modules; now that Solarsquare is part of the CENTROSOLAR Group, it has direct access to the group’s facilities for processing cells into customer-specific module types. CENTROSOLAR is consequently able to make more effective use of its own, existing value chain and boost its rate of return.

Q-Cells intends to offer further quantities to CENTROSOLAR over and above those envisaged by the supply agreement. A certain volume of supplies has moreover been agreed for the period after 2009. The new agreement thus places the existing business relations between the two companies on an even broader, long-term footing.

University researchers in San Diego demonstrate an environmentalist’s dream – a solar-powered device that could turn carbon dioxide into fuel.  A research group at the University of California, San Diego, has shown how compound semiconductor solar cells can convert atmospheric carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide – a useful gas for industrial chemists and, potentially, a fuel.  Cliff Kubiak and graduate student Aaron Sathrum used p-type GaP and GaAsP to harness enough energy from sunlight to split carbon dioxide molecules via an electrochemical reaction.

Ersol’s Solar Cells division is today celebrating its topping-out ceremony, together with Thuringia’s premier Dieter Althaus (CDU) and numerous local politicians, for its new solar cell production facility in Arnstadt. In addition to its production site in Erfurt, the ersol Group is establishing a factory there for crystalline silicon solar cells. The planned investment volume totals around € 46 million. This year, the planned investments of the ersol Group total almost € 120 million. “We are very happy to be taking this decisive step in building our second cell plant. The production of mono- and multicrystalline silicon solar cells has always been, and remains, at the core of the ersol Group. The capacity this will generate for us brings us steadily closer to our expansion target of 400 MWp capacity by the end of 2010“, explains Dr. Claus Beneking, CEO of ersol Solar Energy AG, of the Company’s future capacity expansion.
