SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWR), a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels and solar systems, today announced that its Spanish subsidiary will engineer, procure equipment for and construct an approximately 8 megawatt solar electric power plant in the Extremadura region of Spain.  A corporate affiliate of The Naturener Group, a Spanish-based company, will own the solar power plant, and SunPower expects the system will begin operating in September 2008.

GE Energy Financial Services, a unit of GE (NYSE: GE), announced today that it is partnering with SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ: SPWR) — a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels, and solar systems — to provide financing for five California solar power projects. The projects, totaling approximately eight megawatts, include a system for Toyota Motor Sales’ Parts Center that will be the largest single-roof solar power installation in the United States. The companies are also collaborating on solar projects for HP, Agilent and two county and regional agencies.

Solar EnerTech Enters Into Sales Contract With Sky Solar /Largest Contract Win to Date

Solar EnerTech Corp. (OTCBB: SOEN) (the “Company”) today announced that it has entered into a sales contract with Sky Solar (Hong Kong) International Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sky Global Group to distribute solar modules. Sky Global Group is a global distributor and system integrator of solar panels.  The total shipment to Sky Solar under the contract amounts to approximately US$21.8 million. Shipments, aimed for solar power installations in Spain, are scheduled to be delivered over a 5-month period beginning in December 2007, with the majority of solar module shipments scheduled for the Company’s 2008 fiscal second quarter.

Solar Integrated Wins U.S. $4.3 Million Order for Solar Roofing Project in Spain

Solar Integrated Technologies, Inc. (AIM:SIT.LN), a leading provider of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing systems, announced today that it has won an order for U.S. $4.3 million to supply BIPV roofing systems to be installed on a new industrial complex in Girona, Spain.  The project, named “SOL DE CELRÀ” and believed to be the largest thin film BIPV project in Spain, will be owned by a group of local companies.  The general contractor for the project is Master Renovables, the Spanish engineering firm and solar integrator.  The project is expected to be completed in 2008.

Solar Integrated Technologies, Inc. Today the U.S. Air Force celebrates the completion of North America’s largest solar photovoltaic system at Nellis Air Force Base. A joint project of the U.S. Air Force, MMA Renewable Ventures, LLC, a subsidiary of Municipal Mortgage & Equity, LLC (NYSE: MMA), SunPower Corporation (Nasdaq: SPWR), and Nevada Power Company, the 14 megawatt Nellis solar energy system will generate more than 30 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity annually and supply approximately 25 percent of the total power used at the base, where 12,000 people live and work.

Sanyo to open lab to create low-cost solar cells

Sanyo Electric Co. said Wednesday it will open a lab inside its Gifu Prefecture semiconductor plant in April to develop next-generation, thin-film solar cells requiring a very small amount of silicon. By utilizing the company’s semiconductor expertise, the lab, named Advanced Photovoltaics Development Center, will be used to create solar cells whose power generation costs are comparable to regular home utility rates, according to the Osaka-based manufacturer.
