The completion of the solar power installation at one of Pacific Gas & Electric’s service facilities is the latest example of PG&E’s role in bringing solar power to San Francisco. Premier Power worked closely with PG&E to provide them with solar power systems that were both financially smart and practical. The 207kW solar power system is comprised of two solar arrays; 127kW solar tracker and 80kw building integrated. The 80kW building integrated solar electric system, which features 368 of Sharp’s solar power modules, is made of 3 smaller arrays that include, two 15kW solar facades and one 50kW roof-top array. The 127kW single-axis solar electric tracker system, which features 588 of SunPower’s solar power modules, was designed for double-duty; not only do they shade and protect cars, they also provide steady, reliable solar power. The combined solar power systems will produce approximately 5,701,380 kWh over the system lifetime.
“Premier Power handled the design, engineering, permitting, sub-contracting, materials procurement, and construction management for this first ever solar installation on PG&E facilities in a manner that has distinguished themselves as one of the leading full-service photovoltaic installation companies in California.”, said Fernando Aguilar Senior Project Manager for PG&E.
