California’s fastest-growing solar instillation company, SolarCity, has announced the opening of its new 10,000-square-foot headquarters. SolarCity, recently ranked by the California Energy Commission as the fastest-growing solar installation company in the state, has its headquarters in Foster City. Employee growth has more than tripled during the last five months. The company now has more than 160 employees.
SolarCity officials are also planning new offices in Berkeley, Fresno, Los Angeles and Sacramento in an effort to meet the growing demand. “We’ve put together a great team at SolarCity,” Lyndon Rive, chief executive officer and founder of SolarCity, said in a statement. “Growing our company and providing the best in solar installation and design teams has meant bringing in more talented engineers with experience developing, installing and servicing solar systems. We are hiring the best and brightest to make this happen.”
SolarCity officials say they have been able to attract talent to the company by offering competitive incentives other solar installers do not offer. “Thanks to a strategic growth plan, commitment and excellence of our people, we’ve been able to strengthen our leadership position, extend our influence in new markets, design better products and provide a reason for more people to go solar,” said Rive. “We’re helping transform the solar service industry in California, and will soon take this successful model as our blueprint as we expand across the nation.”
