Aleo solar AG today announced that it continues to expand its market position in Europe. Customers from Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic have ordered solar modules and photovoltaic systems worth more than EUR 35 million for the current year. Together with the contracts previously reported, the current order volume of aleo solar AG for the year 2008 amounts to over EUR 185 million.

While German and Spanish customers have long played a part in aleo solar’s strong revenue growth, Italy is now becoming an increasingly important market. “The positive development in Italy provides sustainable momentum to our international business. The prospects for the next years are excellent,” said Jakobus Smit, CEO of aleo solar AG. aleo solar expanded its presence in Italy with the establishment of aleo solar Italia S.r.l. in January and celebrated the inauguration of its Treviso office in May. “Our customers in Italy increasingly appreciate our expertise in rooftop installations, which aleo solar has gained in Germany. This is also reflected in a consistently high demand for photovoltaic systems, which means that we do not just sell solar modules but also matching inverters and mounting systems,” Smit added.
In addition to Italy, Greece continues to show a positive development. Among others, a green-field photovoltaic installation using aleo solar modules worth more than EUR six million is being constructed in Greece. Added to this are initial orders from Eastern European countries: also solar AG supplies solar modules worth in excess of EUR six million for a photovoltaic power plant in the Czech Republic.
