Now in its 5th edition, PV TECH EXPO will be held for the first time at Milan Fair Centre from 25 to 28 November 2008. PV TECH MILANO 2008 is the exhibition on production technologies for the whole photovoltaic manufacturing industry.
The fair takes place within HTE-HI.TECH.EXPO 2008, the first international event dedicated to innovative technologies, alongside six other exhibitions on perfectly complementary industrial sectors: VTE – VACUUM TECH AND COATING EXPO 2008, the 2nd International Exhibition on Vacuum and Coating Technologies, and the leading event in Europe of its kind; PHOTONICA EXPO 2008, the 1st International Exhibition on Photonics, Lasers, Optics-Optoelectronics and Imaging Technologies; NANO FUTURE EXPO 2008, the 1st International Exhibition on Nanotechnologies; HYDROGEN SHOW 2008, 7th International Exhibition on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells; and BEST 2008, 1st Iinternational Conference & Expo on Batteries, Capacitors, Ultra- and Supercapacitors. At Milan Fair Centre, from 25 to 28 November 2008.

Press release 2008
THE PHOTOVOLTAIC MARKET ON SHOW AT PV TECH MILANO 2008
Press release no. 30/08 / 15 Feb 2008
According to the GSE (Electricity Service Management), during 2007 49,406 MWp of photovoltaic connections were carried out. PV TECH Milano 2008 becomes part of this important growth trend based on the success of the previous editions and, several months from the date of the show, is becoming a privileged meeting point between demand and offer at international level. There will, of course, be many innovations at this year’s edition.
The coming into force in February 2007 of the new Legal Decree regarding the Energy Account has strongly boosted the photovoltaic market in Italy. According to the GSE, as of December 2007 the number of photovoltaic plants of the “old” energy account up and running were 3,973, for a total of 48,438 MWp, while those of the “new” energy account were 1,985, for a total of 10,377 MWp. If we consider that during 2006 9,409 MWp were connected to the network, this means that in 2007 49,406 MWp were connected.
This data gives a clear view of this fast growing market which, in Italy, is seeing the start-up of hundreds of new companies at each and every level of the productive sector and thousands of new workers.
The photovoltaics production sector requires high levels of technological know how and continues to create connections to other technological environments such as those of vacuum and coating.
PV Tech Milano 2008 will, this year, be part of this scenario, an appointment which will put on show machinery and manufacturing and processing technologies for the entire photovoltaic industry.
To highlight and stimulate the technological vocation of this event, and for the first time in Italy, exhibitors coming from all countries worldwide will have the possibility to exhibit their machinery with a considerable saving on costs. The organization of the fair, in fact, will give a special discount of Euro 50 per metre on the areas of the stands occupied by machinery, and therefore, production lines, equipment, components and machinery will all be on show for visitors to see.
A special “reward” for exhibiting companies who will, in this way, have a strengthened presence, contributing in the construction of a unique event which will attract visitors from all over the world.
At PV Tech Milano 2008 the entire photovoltaic sector (manufacturers of machinery and equipment for the production and processing of PV, producers of silicon, cells, modules, inverters, mini-plants etc.) will be present with their products for an international public of sector operators and end users.
PV Tech Milano 2008 is promoted by:
PV TECHNOLOGY magazine for the photovoltaic manufacturing industry
FV FOTOVOLTAICI magazine dedicated to the production of solar energy and heat
VACUUM INTERNATIONAL magazine dedicated to vacuum technologies
SOLAR ENERGY DIRECTORY annual guide dedicated to photovoltaic technologies and the suppliers of the solar thermal power industry
