Suntech Power Co. Ltd. of China has presented its products at “the 2nd Renewable Energy 2007 International Exhibition & Conference” being held at Makuhari Messe. This is the first time that the company ever participates in exhibitions held in Japan.  Taking this as a good opportunity, “We will enhance our Presence in the Japanese market,” said an attendant at the company’s booth. Distributing reference materials in Japanese, Suntech was striving to appeal its products at the exhibition site.

Suntech, which was founded in 2001, rapidly grew up to the world’s fourth largest solar cell manufacturer in a short period of time and is being focused by firms and people related to the industry. The company plans to expand its annual output to 1 GW in 2010. Suntech acquired a Japanese solar cell manufacturer, MSK Corp., in August 2006. Then the company announced it would increase its share in the Japanese market using MSK’s sales networks. The company presented items such as construction materials with a built-in solar cell module, which MSK is good at developing and marketing, at its booth.
