Phoenix Solar AG, a leading photovoltaic system integrator listed on the TecDAX, is currently building a photovoltaic power plant with a 5.8 megawatt peak output on behalf of the Enovos Group in Kenn in the district of Trier-Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate. Construction work has already begun and the commissioning of the power plant has been scheduled for the end of July 2009. An expected annual yield of more than 5,800,000 kilowatt hours in environmentally compatible energy is to supply around 1,650 households.

Phoenix Solar AG is responsible for the planning and construction of this megawatt project. The project development of the ground-mounted power plant was carried out by Bürgerservice Trier, a company which has an extremely good network in the region. Bürgerservice Trier and Phoenix Solar have been working together in the area since 2007. This cooperation has meanwhile resulted in photovoltaic power plants with a peak output of more than 12 megawatt in Longuich, Riol, Kinderbeuern and Hasborn. These plants generate environmentally compatible electricity which covers the annual needs of around 3,600 households.

Alongside project development, Bürgerservice Trier will also be carrying out the excavation work, as well as planting and land maintenance in the capacity of a sub-contractor to Phoenix Solar. Connection to the grid and associated electrical work will be done by Stadtwerke Trier which is responsible for the supply of energy in the region.

“As a cutting-edge utility company, we believe it is our responsibility to invest in renewable energies with the aim of establishing this field as a promising future business segment. We are very happy to have found a strong regional partner in Bürgerservice Trier and a competent partner in Phoenix Solar AG in the realisation of the Enovos Group’s first photovoltaic power plant. In our choice of the company to build the plant what convinced us was the high degree of professionalism and the experience of Phoenix Solar AG”, commented Nestor Didelot, Managing Director of SKW Kenn GmbH and responsible for renewable energies within the Enovos Group.

“We are delighted that we can now count the Enovos Group as a utility company among our customers. My special thanks for the great personal commitment of those involved and the excellent and transparent cooperation”, said Ralph Schneider, Managing Director of Phoenix Solar Energy Investments AG.
