Centrosolar Italia S.r.l., a subsidiary of CENTROSOLAR Group AG, and Milan-based Sunsystem S.r.l. have concluded a long-term cooperation agreement. The partnership envisages that Centrosolar Italia S.r.l. will supply Sunsystem S.r.l. with solar modules and accessories for 8 MWp in the form of integrated systems in 2008.

Centrosolar Italia S.r.l. was established in January 2007 and sells products ranging from integrated systems, modules and components to large-scale turnkey projects. In its very first year in business, it realised several solar systems each with an output in the range of 3-10 kWp in partnership with Sunsystem S.r.l. The latest agreement now takes this successful collaboration to a new level. As well as supplying the solar systems, CENTROSOLAR will be providing training for Sunsystem’s employees.

The partner Sunsystem S.r.l. belongs to the leading Italian system suppliers and has a sales network covering all of Italy. Like CENTROSOLAR, the company has specialised in PV systems with an output in the 1-20 KWp range, for which its own financing models are available. CENTROSOLAR’s solar modules are installed primarily on the roofs of Italian homes.

Italy is a particularly attractive market for CENTROSOLAR’s core business because unlimited subsidies are available for solar power, echoing the model in use in Germany. Since the levels of sunlight are 1.5 times higher than in Germany and the price for power generated by traditional means is over 20 ct/kWh, it is moreover likely that solar power will become competitive in Italy sooner than in other countries, even without subsidies.
